Paramount Services Ltd. is growing and looking for a motivated Construction Estimator to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with estimating experience—or a strong construction background looking to grow into estimating—who enjoys solving project challenges, building accurate estimates, and helping bring commercial projects to life.

Our work includes commercial construction, mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, commercial kitchens, foodservice installations, and specialty project work, offering strong variety and long-term growth.

What You’ll Do:
  • Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project details to understand scope. 
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and assist in preparing accurate cost estimates. 
  • Build project estimates including: 
    • Labor. 
    • Materials. 
    • Equipment. 
    • Subcontractor pricing. 
    • Contingencies. 
    • Project cost breakdowns. 
  • Request and compare pricing from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. 
  • Assist in preparing proposals, bid submissions, scopes of work, and estimate clarifications. 
  • Attend site visits, walkthroughs, and pre-bid meetings as required. 
  • Work closely with Project Managers and leadership to support bid strategy and pricing decisions. 
  • Maintain organized estimate files, pricing records, and vendor information. 
  • Help improve estimating systems, templates, and internal processes. 

What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone with practical construction knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to learn and grow in an estimating role.

Strong candidates may come from backgrounds such as:
  • Construction estimating. 
  • Project coordination in construction. 
  • Mechanical construction. 
  • HVAC / plumbing. 
  • General construction. 
  • Commercial kitchen/foodservice projects. 
  • Trade contracting. 
  • Preconstruction support. 

Ideal qualifications:
  • 1–3+ years of estimating, construction coordination, or relevant construction experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of construction methods, materials, and project sequencing. 
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills. 
  • Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, or supplier pricing is an asset. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook. 
  • Experience with estimating or takeoff software (Bluebeam, Planswift, Procore, or similar) is an asset. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Valid driver’s license. 

Bonus Experience:
Experience in any of the following is highly valued:
  • Mechanical estimating. 
  • HVAC / plumbing systems. 
  • Commercial construction. 
  • Foodservice / kitchen equipment projects. 
  • Specialty trades. 
  •  Design-build projects. 
  • Vendor / subcontractor coordination. 

Compensation & Benefits:
$65,000–$75,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Since then, the company has evolved into a full-service equipment supply and facility maintenance company based from Winnipeg, Manitoba.
