Paramount Services Ltd. is looking for a motivated Construction Estimator to join our team in Winnipeg.

This position is ideal for someone with at least 1 year of construction, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, project coordination, or estimating experience who wants to build a long-term career in construction estimating.

You'll work directly alongside our Senior Project Manager/Estimator and receive structured training and mentorship during your first six months, gaining hands-on experience in commercial construction, mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and foodservice projects.

What You'll Be Doing:
Working with the Senior Project Manager/Estimator, you will:
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and measurements.
  • Assist in preparing detailed project estimates and budgets.
  • Request and compare pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Help prepare bid submissions, proposals, scopes of work, and estimate clarifications.
  • Participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and project walkthroughs.
  • Learn estimating best practices, project costing, and bid strategy.
  • Maintain organized estimate files, pricing databases, and project records.
  • Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems.

What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who is eager to learn and has a solid foundation in construction or mechanical work.

Preferred Background
At least 1 year of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Construction.
  • Mechanical construction.
  • HVAC.
  • Plumbing.
  • Project coordination.
  • Estimating.
  • Construction administration.
  • Commercial kitchen or foodservice projects.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working with numbers, measurements, and project documentation.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license.
